Medical Assistant
Join Cellcolabs to advance cell therapies! We're seeking a skilled Medical Assistant with great bedside manner and expertise in setting IVs and drawing blood to support our stem cell clinical trials.
Building on cutting edge research from Karolinska Institute, Cellcolabs is on a mission to accelerate advanced cell therapies to disrupt healthcare as we know it.
As part of this mission, Cellcolabs have through its subsidiary Cellcolabs Clinical initiated clinical trials in The Bahamas to bring their propriety MSCs from bench side in Sweden to bedside in The Bahamas. The study procedures and treatments are carried out by our local partner Live Well at their clinics in Sandyport and at Albany.
We are looking for an energetic and diligent Medical Assistant with great bed-side manners that excels in the close patient interaction and have experience of working in a clinical setting. To succeed in this role, you must be highly skilled at setting IVs and drawing blood. Since the work also includes collecting data and working within a clinical trial setting, it is an advantage if you have previous experience of data collection and research.
The position is a full-time, with work performed across the two clinics in Sandyport and Albany and will play a pivotal role at the heart of our clinical operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist the treating physician with taking blood samples, setting IVs, take and record vital signs and other monitoring measures and facilitate the work at the clinic.
- Pre-process blood samples that are taken at the clinic.
- Other administrative tasks around the procedures and day-to-day operations of the clinic.
- Assist in collecting and managing study data that is collected within the trials including entering manually collected study data into the clinical database.
Qualifications
- Experience in clinical/hospital setting as medical assistant, physician assistant, or nurse.
- Experience setting IVs and drawing blood.
- Experience processing blood samples and working with pipettes and centrifuges.
- Good knowledge in English (speaking and writing).
